In God’s house there is always room for more: more ideas, more people, more ways to share, more stories to tell. And in the world that God created, there is more needed: more love, more connection, more peace, more creativity. Plenty Good Room reminds us that there is always room in God’s house; we just need to make ourselves at home and invite others to join us.

The ways we steward our relationships, resources, and responses to grow ministry and serve our neighbors are the ways we connect our gratitude to our generosity.

There’s Plenty Good Room in God’s House; pull up a chair and sit down.

Why make a proportional gift?

Recently retired Bishop of Olympia, the Rt. Rev. Greg Rickel, stated that the tithe is only the beginning point. As Christians we give one hundred percent of what we have in gratitude for God who gave us everything there is. We’re all in.

When you make a proportional gift:

  • You set aside your first fruits, dedicating a portion of your wealth, works, and wisdom to God. This is a sacred act.

  • Your financial gift rises and falls with your income – it is right-sized to your household.

Giving back to God is a life-time journey; setting a percentage allows you to step up your giving over time.

It takes more than money to operate ministry in our church.

With gratitude we accept the many gifts of our members as volunteers, servers, ambassadors, and friends in and outside our community.

Thank you for all you do!

Letter from Fr. Kyle Cuperwich, Rector

October 20, 2026

Dear Friends in Christ,

Jesus assures us, “In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.” John 14:2, NRSV These words remind us that God’s abundance is spacious and generous. There is plenty good room in God’s household for each of us.

This year’s stewardship theme, Plenty Good Room, invites us to recognize the abundance God has already entrusted to us. Even in uncertain times, we are called to trust that there is enough: enough for our families, enough for our church, enough for our neighbors.

One way we live into this truth is by sharing our resources – our money, our time, and our talents – for the mission and ministry of this congregation. These gifts support worship that lifts our hearts, teaching that shapes disciples, fellowship that strengthens our bonds, and outreach that embodies Christ’s love.

Over the next several weeks, you will hear from members of our parish about Plenty Good Room and how our generosity makes a difference. Today I simply ask you to begin praying with this theme, reflecting on the resources God has placed in your care, and considering how you might share them joyfully in the year ahead.

Together, let us rejoice that there is always plenty good room in God’s house, and plenty good work for us to do.

Faithfully,

The Rev. Kyle Cuperwich

Rector, Calvary Episcopal Church

And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.
