Outreach

“In reply he said to them, ‘Whoever has two coats must share with anyone who has none; and whoever has food must do likewise.’”

— Luke 3:11

We are beginning to collect items for the Ditty Bags we will pack for Seamen’s Church this year.  We are accepting travel sized:

  • body wash/body lotion

  • shampoo/conditioner

  • toothpaste/toothbrushes

  • shaving cream/razors

  • "chapsticks"

We will assemble the ditty bags on November 9, and travel to Seamen's Church for our annual packing day on Monday, Dec 1 at about 10am.  If you would Iike to go, please see Lynn Cote.  We will figure carpooling as we get closer!

Community Outreach has always been a key ministry area for Calvary Episcopal Church. Throughout the year, the congregation participates in supporting our local food pantry, as well as fundraising for local groups such as Family Promise of Hunterdon County and Readington Social Services.  We also support Christmas at Sea through The Seamen’s Church Institute every year by knitting scarves and hats to donate. We always look for more opportunities to directly give back to the community.
